Walk-a-Thon raises $17,551.15!

October 9, 2015

Not only did we reach our goal, we surpassed it on our way to a final total of
$17, 551.15! Most importantly, our Wellington students reached their goal & were rewarded with painting their handprints on Mr. Bagnall's truck. Anyone who was at the Walk got to enjoy the excitement of seeing 538 students leave their mark on the truck. One word came to mind: Priceless!!

Congratulations to:

  • Our Kindergarten class who won the grade level competition by bringing in the highest average total donation & got to lead all the students onto the Walk-a-Thon field with the Wellington Way Spirit flag. They also picked Mr. Bagnall's hair color for the day: Turquoise!!!
  • Our Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, & 3rd grade classes for reaching their grade level goals & earning an extra recess!
  • Taeler Morgan from Mrs. Cirillo's 4th grade class who won our Grand Prize Drawing for a Kindle Fire!

We want to extend an extra special thank you to:

  •  All of you who volunteered your time to make the Walk-a-thon a huge success. Whether it was counting money, setting up for the walk, handing out water bottles, or painting hundreds of hands; we couldn't have done this without you.
  • The Leota Junior High students who help with the truck-painting.
  • Our wonderful Wellington staff for all of their help with communication & keeping our students excited about reaching their goals.
  • To everyone who brought in donations: the Walk-a-thon would not have been a success if it were not for the support of our Wellington families & community.
  • And last but not least -- our Walk-a-Thon Co-Chairs Jenna Engle and Margot Schroeder.
