Advocacy/Legislation*++
Communicate current initiatives that effect the education and well-being of our students.
Afterschool Art
Promote registration. Coordinate volunteer to check students in and out once per week for after-school art program provided by contracted instructor.
Art Docent
Enlist art docents for each classroom, inform of volunteer training (provided by district), keep supplies current.
Art Walk*++
Coordinate family night to showcase art from our community. Work with reflection, art docent and PACE enrichment chair & music teachers.
Assemblies*++
Two assemblies per year through Coordination with school leadership & PTA.
Author visit *++
Work with school librarian to bringing authors to our school for students to learn the love of writing and reading from.
Awards*++
Collect nominations and lead committee in selecting Golden Acorn & Outstanding Advocate. Assist teachers in the selection of Outstanding Educator.
Box Tops*++
Collect and submit box tops to support fundraising efforts.
Book Fair
Work with librarian to promote, coordinate volunteers for setup/shifts/cleanup, daily deposit.
Bulleting Board*
Keep Board updated with PTA events, membership, advocacy & community happenings.
Dads & Dirt++
Coordinate dad focused campus cleanup efforts and landscape maintenance.
Chess Club
Promote student registration. Coordinate volunteer to check students in and out once per week for afterschool chess program provided by contracted chess master.
Choir
Promote student registration. Coordinate volunteer to check students in and out for afterschool choir program provided by contracted Choir instructor.
Classic Books*
Coordinate 6 week program. Enlist volunteers for small reading groups with 3-6th grade students, train group leaders (provided by district), book inventory, scheduling, student registration.
Directory*++
Compile student directory at start of school year.
Directory Sponsorship++
Solicit sponsorships from parents and local businesses with advertisement options
in our school directory.
Emergency Preparedness
Support Wellington/NSD in keeping emergency supplies updated & organized, as well as
provide emergency preparation education to the community.
Financial Review*++
Work with treasurer to review financial record keeping in January and July.
Family Fun Nights*++
Plan 3 Family Fun events for the year (skating party, movie night, bingo night, etc.).
Grant Writing *++
Assess needs and availability of grants to support PTA and school community programs.
Helping Hands*
Plan service projects (supplies/volunteers/resources) for monthly meeting. Coordinate student registration and promotion.
Kick-Off *++
Coordinate back to school event with PTA program tables, refreshments, and basket raffle.
Kindergarten Bus
Ride bus with kindergarten students 1st week of school.
Library*
Coordinate volunteers for weekly classrooms library visits to assure students have support with book check-in/out, locating reading & research materials, and lend assistance to librarian with special projects.
Lunch Bunch
Coordinate student registration/referrals with teacher and contracted facilitator for Lunchtime social skills development groups.
Missoula Children’s Theater
Coordinate student registration, auditions, rehearsals & performances.
Newsletter*++
Produce monthly newsletter with submissions from members & chairs.
Newsletter Distributor*++
Print & deliver newsletter for distribution to students monthly.
Parent Support/Enrichment
Set quarterly guest speakers/presentations to support parents.
Popcorn Fridays
Provide a once a month lunchtime treat to free of charge to every student and staff member.
Reflections
Distribute theme & registration materials, offer a couple afterschool art sessions, assistance with preparation of submissions, coordinate judging, & gallery event (work in partnership with art walk chair).
Science Club
6 week Lunchtime club for all students k-6th grade to participate in. Coordinate student registration, theme/experiments, volunteers, & supplies.

Coordinate student participation, hands-on experiments, science focused entertainment & volunteers.
Social Concerns*
Coordinate Food Drive, Gift Drive, & Coat/Clothing Drive.
Spirit Wear*++
Coordinate sales and distribution of Wellington Elem. Logo clothing fall & spring.
Staff Appreciation*
Coordinate quarterly themed luncheons and one week appreciation in spring.
Volunteer Coordinator*++
Inform community of volunteer opportunities & collect volunteer survey. Compile volunteer list for distribution to PTA committees & staff.
Website*++
Keep PTA website updated and organized with current information.
Committee Chairs: person/persons who coordinate each program. Chairs often facilitate promotion, volunteer organization/training, supply collection/distribution, student registration, and assess success of program. Each chair is provided information outlining past practices however as the chair you are able to work with executive team to influence change and growth to each program.
