September 2025
School is back in session! We are thrilled to welcome you back to Wellington for another great year. Our campus looks beautiful thanks to over 120 volunteers who helped weed, spread beauty bark, and set up classrooms during Community Serve Day!
As you make plans for the year ahead, please consider purchasing a membership in the Wellington PTA (https://wellington.givebacks.com/shop). Joining the PTA is a great way to support our school and stay informed. We have a lot of opportunities to volunteer, and if you're interested in taking on a greater role, check out this SignUp Genius, and see if any roles interest you. There is no expectation to volunteer when you join the PTA but your gift of time and service is always welcome!
We need 2 volunteers to complete a Financial Review of our accounting books to close out the 2024-2025 school year. It should take about 2 hours to complete and you must be a registered PTA member. If you are available, please email jodi@wellingtonpta.org.
We love sponsors! We are actively planning for our Webster’s Challenge and Fun Run. If your business is interested in sponsoring the PTA and/or this awesome event, please contact mandy@wellingtonpta.org or fill out the PTA Sponsorship form.
PTA is not sending home paper flyers so continue reading email newsblasts and keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for event updates, and remember that our new website, www.wellington.givebacks.com, will launch later this year. And of course, please mark your calendars for the following events:

Curriculum Nights:
Curriculum Night is an informative night for parents & caregivers (find a babysitter now!), and is a wonderful opportunity to interact with your child’s teacher. Our wonderful principal, Mr. Schoenfeldt, will stay to chat. All are welcome, we’ll have coffee and donuts; remember to sign in at the office.
September 22: Before & After School Programs Begin (volunteers needed)
Wellington PTA has partnered with local businesses to bring your kids chess, public speaking and martial arts, etc., for enrichment outside of the school day. Webster’s Challenge & Fun Run: September 29 – October 10
Every year, Webster, our Wellington Wolverine mascot, challenges our community to raise funds to support the PTA. This money is critical to funding PTA classroom and school-wide grants and supports all activities and events run by the PTA. This year, Webster has asked us to raise $25,000 between September 29 and October 10. Yes, $25,000 is a lot, but Webster believes we can do it! https://wellingtonpta.givebacks.gives/wc2025
This year, we are asking our students to raise funds by participating in a Fun Run. Lanyards and a giving envelope will come home with students on Friday, September 26. Please consider returning the envelope with a financial donation before Friday, October 10, and use the Lanyard with QR code to talk to family, friends and neighbors about the Fun Run and our PTA. All students will receive a Fun Run T-shirt regardless of participation. Fun Run registration costs $10 and will be sold leading up to and at the event; 100% of registration sales will go directly to Webster’s Challenge.
Any amount helps! Remember that employer matching funds are a great resource for Webster’s Challenge, and as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID# 91-1061631), Wellington PTA will benefit! Email Mandy at mandy@wellingtonpta.org if your business is interested in sponsoring and being promoted during this event. Sales of Wellington Spiritwear also counts towards our fundraising goal!
The Fun Run will be held on Friday, October 10, from 5-7pm at Wellington. Kids will run or walk as many laps as they want through bubbles, pool noodles, colored chalk and more, and we’ll have music and food too! It should be a fun way to celebrate all the hard work the kids do to earn money for their school! We need volunteers to make this event happen, please sign up to help during the event here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D49ADAE29A7F8C16-57961945-websters
October 2: Maker’s Space Opens (volunteers needed)
Does your kid need an alternative to the playground? Tell them about Maker’s Space—a place where everyone is welcome to create! Occurs every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch recess (please note, the Library Reading Room is still happening as another recess alternative but it will be run by Ms. Beavo).

October 3: Helping Hands (volunteers needed)
Get your kids excited about helping others! This month, kids will help to color a Thank You poster for Webster’s Challenge donors. The Helping Hands session will take place during both recesses near the Wellington Courtyard, all students are welcome to participate.
